SILVERBALL player from Germany wins dream holiday to Las Vegas
The excitement was almost tangible to the very end: who will win the dream holiday to Las Vegas? In the international SILVERBALL CHAMPIONSNET tournament “Las Vegas 2009”, thousands of players had driven one another to top performances and played for many great prizes. For the top prize, TAB-Austria held a draw for a trip to Las Vegas for two, including flight, accommodation and limousine transfer, among the 30 best Unique Players (individual, different players).
Now it has been decided: the lucky winner is Jörg Abel alias “bigg“ of Zeulenroda in Germany. He proved his quick comprehension and skills at the “Funhouse” – the small amusement centre in Zeulenroda has been relying on the SILVERBALL terminals of TAB-Austria for many years.
“Could have jumped for joy”
The handover of the travel voucher took place on Friday, 12th October 2009 at the company premises of TAB-Austria in Ansfelden near Linz/Upper Austria. “At first I could not believe that I really had won the top prize, I thought it was a joke. And when I got the call from TAB-Austria with the invitation to the handover of the voucher, I could have jumped for joy”, says the 35 year old EDP clerk beaming. The owner of the “Funhouse” together with her two sons attended the handover, too, and shared “her Jörg’s” happiness about the great prize.
The “Las Vegas” tournament consisted of three stages in total:
- 1st stage: 1st to 30th April 2009
- 2nd stage: 1st to 31st May 2009
- 3rd stage: 1st to 30th June 2009
At each tournament stage, there was s choice of ten games from most different categories (quiz, strategy, action, etc.). As with every tournament of TAB-Austria, participating was very simple: players could register at each SILVERBALL terminal for free and enter the tournament any time.
Jörg Abel has been an enthusiastic SILVERBALL player for many years already and participates in every tournament of TAB-Austria. For him, first of all it is about the entertainment and the competition, the prizes, however, are an additional incentive. “When I participate in a tournament, I am driven by ambition. I want to get as high up as possible in the high-score list. To have the chance to win a prize in doing so is great of course, but that’s nothing you really reckon with. Predominant are the fun and the mutual overtrumping in the various games. That’s what I like about the SILVERBALL tournaments.”

For three nights, Jörg Abel and his partner will reside at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, one of the most beautiful hotels in the world. Beside a casino, the impressive hotel complex also offers a shopping mall and numerous bars and restaurants. Furthermore included in the prize is the return flight as well as an exclusive VIP limousine transfer, which will chauffeur the happy winner directly to the hotel.
